The Music Staff
The notes indicate the pitch and the duration of the sound.
It is writen on a staff which is composed of five horizontal lines and four interlines.
The staff is composed in many measures which is the space between 2 verticals lines.
Each measures countains the same amount of beats.
The upper number in the time signature tells us the amount of beats contained in one measure.
The bottom number tells us the type of note in one beat.
For examples 4/4 means 4 quarter notes in one measure. 6/8 means 6 eighth notes in one measure.
A system is a group of measures in one row.
The treble clef, also called G clef tells us to play the notes with the right hand and the bass clef the left hand.
An easy way to find the notes of the bass clef is to raise 3 half steps the notes of the treble clef.
When the notes are played out of the staff, we use little lines below and above it.
The letters above the measures indicate the type of chord played in it.
