Intervals
An interval is the distance between two keys on the piano or 2 notes.
These intervals can be Major, Minor, Perfect, Diminished or Augmented.
Ex:
The Major and Perfect intervals from the C note:
(Count the notes starting from the lowest note to the other one)
C to C: Perfect Unison C to D flat : Minor Second or m2
C to D Major Second or M2 C to E flat : Minor third or m3
C to E Major Third or M3
C to F Perfect Fourth or P4
C to G Perfect Fifth or P5 C to A flat : m6
C to A Major Six or M6 C to B flat : m7
C to B Major Seventh or M7
C to C Perfect Octave or P8

M2 = Dim3
m3 = Aug2
M3 = Dim4
P4 = Aug3
Tritone = Aug4
